Module 1 – Introduction to AI Animation & Tools Setup

Objective:

  • Understanding AI in creative pipelines (text-to-image, image-to-video, motion generation)
  • Types of AI animation tools (character, motion, voice, editing)
  • Introduction to creative workflow

 

Practical:
  • Tool setup (login, free trials, accounts)
  • Exploring sample AI animations

 

Tools:
  • Runway ML – for AI video generation
  • CapCut / Canva – video editing
  • ChatGPT – for scripting & prompts

 

Assignment:
  • Research 2 AI animation tools and share a short (10–15 sec) test clip using any one.

Module 2 – Storyboarding & Scripting with AI

Objective:
  • Learn to generate ideas, write scripts, and design storyboards using AI.
Topics Covered:
  • What makes a good animation story
  • Using AI for ideation and creative storytelling
  • Writing scripts with ChatGPT
  • Designing storyboards with AI image tools

 

Practical:
  • Generate a script and storyboard using AI
Tools:
  • ChatGPT / Gemini / Claude – for scriptwriting
  • Storyboarder (open source) – for scene planning
  • Midjourney /  Ideogram – for AI storyboard visuals

 

Assignment:
  • Create a 30-second script and storyboard (5–6 frames).

Module 3 – Character Design & Voice Generation

Objective:
  • Create AI characters and generate matching voices.
Topics Covered:
  • Character design fundamentals
  • Creating characters with AI
  • Voice generation and syncing basics

 

Practical:
  • Generate a 2D or 3D character using AI
  • Add voice to the character

 

Tools:
  • Ready Player Me / Character Creator – for characters
  • ElevenLabs  – for AI voice generation
  • HeyGen – for talking avatars

 

Assignment:
  • Produce a 15-sec animated talking character using AI-generated voice.

Module 4 – Animation Motion & Lip Sync

Objective:
  • Add motion, facial expression, and lip sync to characters.

  • Motion capture and AI motion transfer
  • Lip sync & expression alignment
  • Combining character & motion

 

Practical:
  • Animate your AI character with motion presets or custom input
Tools:
  • DeepMotion /  Move.ai – motion generation
  • HeyGen – automatic lip sync

 

Assignment:
  • Create a 20-sec character animation with realistic motion & lip sync.

Module 5 – Scene Design & Environment Creation

Objective:
  • Build immersive scenes and backgrounds using AI tools.

  • Scene composition & lighting
  • AI background & world generation
  • Camera angles & depth

  • Design 2–3 AI-generated backgrounds
  • Animate simple camera movement

  • Kaiber / Pika Labs – text-to-video environment
  • Runway ML / Midjourney – for background generation
  • Canva / Photoshop – for compositing

 

Assignment:

Produce a 15-sec scene animation with background and moving camera.

Module 6 – Integrating Sound, Music & Effects

Objective:
  • Enhance animations with audio design and effects.

  • Sound design basics
  • AI music generation
  • Syncing sound and visuals
  • Adding transitions & FX

  • Add music, ambient sounds & transitions

  • Soundraw / Beatoven / Mubert – AI music generation
  • Audacity / Descript – sound editing
  • CapCut  – for final syncing

 

Assignment:
  • Add background music & sound FX to your previous Module’s animation.

Module 7 – Editing, Refinement & Post-Production

Objective:
  • Combine scenes, refine timing, and finalize animations.
Topics Covered:
  • Editing timeline
  • Color correction & visual polish
  • Adding captions & branding

 

Practical:
  • Combine multiple short clips into one story
Tools:
  • CapCut  – for editing
  • Runway ML – for upscaling and scene enhancement

 

Assignment:
  • Assemble your final 1-minute animation draft.

Module 8 – Final Project & Portfolio Presentation & Career Opportunity

Objective:
  • Create and present a complete AI-animated short film.
